Museum Army Port Dickson- A Reservoir of War

The Army Museum, known locally as Muzium Tentera Darat, is located off the main road at 5th mile, about 7 kilometres from Port Dickson town in Sirusa district. The Malaysian Royal Armed Forces' Museum traces exploits and achievements throughout history, embellished with dramatic elements and romantic story-telling. It houses the nation’s military achievements, memorabilia, uniforms and weapons throughout decades of history along with outdoor exhibits tracing the army from the 16th century Melaka Sultanate to the British era.

Two armoured cars, Cindai and Bistari wait to be 'tried' on the outside of the museum. The sensation of fresh breath vanished as soon as someone sat in the driver's seat of an armoured car loaded with iron equipment. It is very narrow and crowded. The only way out is through a small window three fingers wide. The armoured cars can carry ten troops, including ammunition and other weapons, at any given time. A tank discovered in Semenyih, Selangor, is additionally on display.

The CPM (Communist Party of Malaya Tunnel) Tunnel, a recreated underground tunnel network similar to the one used by bandits during the Emergency, is a particularly interesting exhibit. All of the bandits' activities were carried out in the tunnel. Tourism Malaysia awarded Museum Army Port Dickson a MERIT AWARD in the category of 'Best Tourist Attraction', National Identity 2005/6 for its unique collections and sentimental value.
